We are approximately 20 minutes north of M-59 (Hall Rd.), 8 miles North of Romeo, 30 Minutes North-East of Rochester, 45 Minutes East of Flint & 45 Minutes West of Port Huron.

Our building was built in 1843 by Stephen  Briggs as  a wool carding mill. In the 1900’s it was converted to a feed & grain mill and was in use for that purpose until the late 1960’s. Shortly after the building was acquired by the Hough family and was used to produce apple cider. The building was then purchased by Douglas Graves who opened the building as a craft store with light lunch and a small bookstore.

In 1990, Debra & Arthur Schumacher purchased the building and as they say, the rest is history. Since opening her store in 1989, Debra has sold antiques as her main operation and in 2004 branched out adding The BrewHouse Cafe & Espresso Bar to the building’s history.

Stop by to be enchanted by our historic building and it’s casual atmosphere. Sip your coffee (or tea…or smoothie…) while you enjoy this wonderful piece of history!

We offer both indoor seating under the canopy of our historic wheels & pulleys and outdoor seating surrounding the property.

Our outdoor seating features white linen umbrellas and an expansive lawn where you can find a place to relax–near the river, or under a tree!

We feel there are a variety of things that set us apart from other Coffee Houses and faux coffee joints–including our love for coffee!

Every Drink is Handcrafted — Made from scratch with REAL Espresso, Milk, Flavors & Our Famous Fresh Whipped Cream. No powders or mixes here! (Unlike the Gas Station or a certain “coffee” chain we know of…)
